About the Event

Shadowland is a one day only site specific experience not to be missed, with live sound art performances; including a secret noise choir, and a curated art exhibition all inside the structure of an old munitions facility.

Steeped in the history of gold mining and two world wars, and nestled on the banks of the Maribyrnong River, Jack’s magazine was only decommissioned as an ammunition facility in the 1990s.

Shadowland evokes these ghosts of Footscray past with artists exploring body, ritual and place through the use of scent, project, light and Virtual Reality. Immersed in near darkness, live Audio-Visual and choral performances will draw your attention to each aspect of this multi-faceted installation.

Sessions last 75 minutes approximately and are at strict capacity. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the Shadowland of Footscray’s disused weapons facility. Grab a cocktail at the on-site horse float bar while you wait for your performance.
